DIY Kit - Atari 5200 Controller - Left Stick
This DIY kit delivers everything you need to make your very own copy of Scott Baker's digital-to-analog Atari 5200 controller design, in one convenient package. Comes complete with our FDM 3D-printed case, SLA 3D-printed buttons, Scott Baker's PCB, and the entire BOM of electronics components for you to populate it with. The ATTINY85 microcontroller comes preprogrammed with the necessary firmware. The kit also comes with a 15-pin extension cable, which is required to connect the controller to your console.
NOTE: THIS KIT REQUIRES THE CUSTOMER TO SOLDER AND ASSEMBLE THE INDIVIDUAL PARTS INTO A FINAL PRODUCT. THIS PRODUCT IS NOT RECOMMENDED UNLESS YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE AND COMFORT WITH SOLDERING AND TROUBLESHOOTING ELECTRONICS COMPONENTS.
This version of the kit comes with the case for installing the thumbstick on the left and fire buttons on the right - so make sure you build your board that way! ;-) Select your case and button colors using the drop-down box above. Refer to the buttons photo alongside the description to help make your selections:
Retro - Opaque black number pad buttons. Translucent red fire buttons. Translucent, color-coded start/pause/reset buttons.
Red (not pictured) - Translucent red number pad and fire buttons. Translucent, color-coded start/pause/reset buttons.
Glacier - All buttons are translucent light blue.
Note: 3D printed parts are not like injection molded parts. The surface will show extrusion rings, seams, blemishes and other signs of plastic extrusion or resin layering. This is cosmetic only and in no way detracts from the part's functionality.
